Support for children & young people, at their own pace.
A calm, trusting space where children and young people feel safe to express themselves, however that looks for them.
I have extensive experience supporting children and young people, gained through NHS youth counselling services, school-based counselling for children aged 7 to 18, bereavement support at the Fountain Centre at Royal Surrey Hospital, and my private practice.
Children and teenagers often show emotional distress differently to adults. It can appear as anxiety, anger, withdrawal, low mood, school refusal, changes in behaviour, low confidence, self-harm, friendship difficulties, or struggles coping with family pressures and change.
I create a calm, trusting environment where young people feel safe to express themselves at their own pace. Depending on what suits the individual, I draw on a blend of talking therapy, creative approaches and, where appropriate, play-based techniques, helping children and young people communicate their feelings, process their experiences, and build confidence and resilience.
My aim is always the same: to help young people feel understood, emotionally secure, and better equipped to manage the challenges they face.
A safe, supportive space for children to express how they feel.
Children & Young People
I also see children and young people for childhood bereavement, self-harm, and ADHD- and dyslexia-related difficulties, drawing on the same qualifications and experience listed under About Me.
Frequently Asked Questions
I work with children and young people aged 7 to 18, drawing on experience from NHS youth counselling services and school-based counselling across that age range.
I take time to help your child feel comfortable and safe before anything else. Depending on their age and what suits them, we might talk, or use creative or play-based approaches, so they can express themselves in whatever way feels natural rather than being expected to simply talk it out.
Confidentiality is central to building trust with a young client, so I won't share the detail of what's discussed. The exceptions are the same as with any client (where I have a professional or legal duty to act, such as a risk of serious harm), and I'm always happy to talk through how this works before we begin.
Yes. Alongside my private practice, I've worked as a School Counsellor in Surrey and through the NHS Youth Counselling Service, so I'm familiar with the pressures school-related difficulties, friendship problems and behaviour changes can bring.
